Wedding Dress Alterations
Your wedding dress is one of the most important garments you’ll ever wear—and it deserves to fit you perfectly. At Lizzie Norris Seamstress, we specialise in bridal alterations that enhance comfort, confidence, and beauty on your big day.
When to book
The best time to get in touch is as soon as you’ve purchased your dress. This allows us plenty of time to plan fittings and make sure everything is just right. We like to have your first fitting 6-7 weeks before your wedding date. This allows enough time for any adjustments, restyling, or custom touches—without any last-minute stress.
The fittings
Every bride and every dress is unique, so the number of fittings depends on the complexity of the alterations. Most brides require 2 to 3 fittings:
First fitting - During the first fitting we will pin your dress, discuss all the alterations needed and or wanted and provide you with an accurate cost for these alterations. Most wedding dresses cost around £550-£750 to alter, depending on what needs to be done and how complex the alterations are.
Second fitting - During the second fitting we will check all the alterations that were pinned at the first and ensure that your dress is fitting perfectly.
Third fitting - The third fitting is used if any other tweaks need to be completed and can be cancelled if not needed. It usually falls at least two weeks before your wedding date to ensure that you have your dress in plenty of time for your wedding.
How much will it cost to alter my Wedding Dress?
Prices for altering Wedding Dresses vary depending on how much or little work you would like or need on your dress. Our average Wedding Dress alteration cost is between £550-£750. If you have lots of beading or lace on your dress, it will be on the higher end of the price range.
To provide an accurate quote message us or book in for a consultation.
When it comes to payment, we ask for a minimum of 25% of the total alterations cost at the first fitting and then final payment once your dress is completed. This can be paid via Cash, Card or Bank Transfer.
